Tree Plantation to Revive a Stream in Ganga Boghpur, Dehradun

A beautiful plantation programme was organised at Chand Patar, Ganga Bhogpur, Dehradun graced by the Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Trivendra Singh Rawat, Co-Founder of the Global Interfaith WASH Alliance Pujya Swami Chidanand Saraswatiji, Founder of HESCO Dr. Anil Joshii, Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Forests Uttarakhand Shri Jai Raj, the Eco-Task Force’s Col HS Rana, and many like-minded service organisations such as the Waste Warriors – Dehradun and Zero Waste.  Several schools were also involved to help support the local villagers efforts to revive their local stream.

Several fruit trees, medicinal plants and other plant types were planted enthusiastically by the honourable digniatries, civil society organisations, army officers, members of the Eco-Task Force and several hundred students.  Fifty moringa saplings and five Rudraksha saplings were also given by GIWA and Ganga Action Parivar towards the cause.

During the occasion, they also discussed organising the upcoming Himalaya Diwas (on Himalaya Day on the 9th September) celebrations jointly with the State Government, HESCO and the Global Interfaith WASH Alliance. The Hon’ble CM declared that they would celebrate not just a day but a whole week in honour of raising awareness and inspiring action for the preservation and protection of our sacred Himalayas.
