Tree Plantation at Kendriya Vidyalaya IDPL, Rishikesh

This morning the GIWA team visited Kendriya Vidyalaya IDPL , Rishikesh, a central government school with over 1,000 students. We met the Principal Ms Sudha Gupta, who happily received us for a tree plantation.

During the visit, we planted 12 fruit trees with a group of 7th class students, around their beautiful and well-maintained grounds. The saplings which were planted included Amla, Orange, Lemon, Bhel, Moringa, and Pomegranate.

Sri Ram Chandra Shah, a Sevak with GIWA, spoke to the students, explaining why it is so important to plant trees and care for the tree saplings after plantation, educating them on how to maintain them, as well as explaining each plants benefits and uses. The students were inspired, and excited to plant the saplings, and pledged to take care of them.

We also visited their herb garden, which was planted on a previous GIWA visit.
