More than 2,000 people pledged for “Swachhata Hi Seva” in Uttarkashi, emphasizing the importance of cleanliness and community service in the Himalayas.
On the eve of the birthdays of Honorable PM Shri Narendra Modi and Honorable Chief Minister of Uttarakhand Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami, the first phase of a Disability Free Uttarakhand Camp had begun and the 15 day camp concluded yesterday in Uttarakashi. This initiative, organized across various districts of Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh with the blessings of HH Param Pujya Swami Chidanand Saraswatiji, reflects our commitment to social welfare.
During the 15-day Disability Free Uttarakhand Campaign, over 500 individuals received prosthetic limbs, calipers, modified shoes, crutches, and walkers at no cost, thanks to the collaborative efforts of Parmarth Niketan, Rishikesh, and Mahavir Seva Sadan, Kolkata. This initiative is part of the larger “Disability Free India” campaign, launched in 2022, which aims to ensure the inclusion, dignity, and empowerment of people with disabilities, reaching even the most remote areas. In addition to this camp messages about the importance of access to sanitation and hygiene facilities for the marginalized and vulnerable populations were interwoven into the campaign so that no one is left behind in the dream of a Swachh Bharat.
Pujya Swami Chidanand Saraswatiji – Muniji remarked, “Disability Free India is a mission to empower the differently-abled, integrating them into the mainstream of society and ensuring equal opportunities for all.”
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Hon’ble Governor of Uttarakhand, Shri Lt Gen Gurmit Singh Ji, Uttarakhand’s Higher Education and Health Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat Ji, and other dignitaries for their participation and encouragement. Together, we continue to promote “Swachhata Hi Seva” and build a more inclusive society for everyone.
