Rebuilding of Buddha Temple in Nepal After Earthquake

Rebuilding Buddha Temple in Nepal after earthquake strikes

Today on the auspicious occasion of Buddha Purnima, Pujya Swami Chidanand Saraswatiji, Co-founder/Chairman of Global Interfaith WASH Alliance, inspired an earthquake affected village of Lamas, nestled in the mountains of Nepal, to come together and rebuild their ancient and beautiful Buddha Temple. Like many of the houses in the Saanga Village, their sacred shrine remains shattered with the ancient and beautiful idol of Lord Buddha, other deities, ancient scriptures and texts lying tattered and scattered amongst the rubble.

Pujya Swamiji on His recent visit to Nepal inspired the villagers to channel the great pain and anguish that they experience into coming together as one community, as one family, to rebuild not only their temple but to rebuild their lives. Pujya Swamiji emphasized that their faith in Lord Buddha is key to bringing not only hope but great healing to the village. He also ensured that Project Hope and its entire team of volunteers would provide all the necessary support and resources in these efforts.
