Inauguration of New Toilet Complex in Leh-Ladakh

LADAKH: A joyous inauguration of a new toilet complex took place in Leh- Ladakh at the Mahabodhi International Meditation Centre – MIMC near the campuses large meditation and prayer hall, which was led by Pujya Swami Chidanand Saraswatiji – Muniji,  Pujya Sadhvi Bhagawati Saraswati, organized and hosted by Ven Bhikkhu Sanghasena, Founder of MIMC and graced by IMAM UMER AHMED ILYASI, resident of the All India Imam Organisation, Dr Vandana Shiva, Founder of Nadanya, Sulekha Kumbhare, Hon’ble Member, Minority Commission, GoI, Nagpur and Maj Gen Yash Mor,General Officer Commanding, Leh Sub Area and many other eminent dignitaries.

The divine shaktis (women) with the men standing behind them as they unveiled the foundation stone that stated the theme upon which the toilet was constructed:

During their last visit the land had been identified and the first ground breaking ceremony took place during a large Swachh Ladakh, Swachh Bharat campaign launch with a beautiful Worship to WASH Summit that Global Interfaith WASH Alliance organized, with the technical support of UNICEF India, and was done by the hands of Dr. Harsh Vardhan ji, Minister of Environment and Forests and Minister of Science and Technology, as well as eminent faith leaders, including Pujya Swamiji, Chief Jathedar Giani Gurbachan Singhji, Ven Bhikkhu Sanghsenaji, Sadhvi Bhagawati Saraswatiji and a galaxy of the GIWA’s interfaith leaders, including senior members of the UNICEF India team.

The toilet structure was inaugurated recently by the hands and the hearts of young girls and boys, nuns and lamas of MIMC admist chanting of Desh Ki Seva Kaun Karenga – Hum Karenge, Hum Karenge (Who is going to serve the nation? We Are!) and Toilet Ko Safa Kaun Karenga? Hum Karenge, Hum Karenge (Who is going to keep the Toilet Clean? We Are!). They also took the first steps into the complex and proclaimed their great delight to have availability of these much needed sanitation facilities.
