GIWA
Advocacy

GIWA works with leaders and policy makers from across India and around the world to advocate for improved access to safe, healthy and sustainable Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) for all.
WASH for All

GIWA produces informative policy papers and publications that delve deeply into pressing issues, such as sustainable development and the rejuvenation of key water sources, including the Ganga and Yamuna Rivers.
In addition, GIWA is spearheading the National Ganga Rights Campaign and has co-authored a draft National Ganga River Rights Act, which paved the way for the River Ganga to be the first in India to receive same rights to exist and thrive as a person would have.
GIWA has met with leaders including: the Hon’ble President of India, HE Sri Pranab Mukerjee, the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi, HRH Charles, Prince of Wales, the Hon’ble Prime Minister of the UK, Mr. David Cameron, the Hon’ble Prime Minister of Japan, Mr. Shinzo Abe, the Hon’ble President of South Africa, HE Jacob Zuma, the Hon’ble President of Guyana, HE Donald Ramotar, the Hon’ble Vice President of Nepal Shri Parmanand Jha, Hon’ble USA Congresswoman Smt. Tulsi Gabbard, as well as numerous sitting Cabinet Ministers and other leaders from around the world.
