GIWA works with leaders and policy makers from across India and around the world to advocate for improved access to safe, healthy and sustainable Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) for all.
WASH for All
GIWA produces informative policy papers and publications that delve deeply into pressing issues, such as sustainable development and the rejuvenation of key water sources, including the Ganga and Yamuna Rivers.
In addition, GIWA is spearheading the National Ganga Rights Campaign and has co-authored a draft National Ganga River Rights Act, which paved the way for the River Ganga to be the first in India to receive same rights to exist and thrive as a person would have.
GIWA has met with leaders including: the Hon’ble President of India Smt. Droupadi Murmu, the Hon’ble Vice President of India, Shri Jagdeep Dhankar, the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi, the Hon’ble Head of Rashtriya Sevak Sangh Shri Mohan Bhagwatji, HRH King Charles, the Hon’ble 14th President of India Shri Ramnath Kovindji, many former presidents and prime ministers of various countries including India, UK, Japan, South Africa, Guyana etc. the Secretary-General and Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations, the President of the UN General Assembly, and numerous sitting cabinet ministers of India and other renowned leaders from across the world.
