First Interreligious Meeting for Fostering Dialogue, Peaceful Coexistence & Diversity on the banks of River Ganga

Parmarth Niketan, GIWA’s International Headquarters, was proud to host the First Interreligious Meeting for Fostering Dialogue, Peaceful Coexistence & Diversity during the Interreligious Summit in Rishikesh, an event organized by the International Dialogue Centre (KAICIID), the Global Interfaith WASH Alliance, and Parmarth Niketan. This historic summit aimed to bring together Muslims and Hindu religious leaders and youth from more than 30 various religious groups in India.

Having in mind the upcoming 150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Ghandi, his contributions to humanity through his advocacy for peaceful and inclusive societies were celebrated, remembering the importance of acceptance, unity in diversity, and peaceful coexistence as foundations for common citizenship.
Discussions at the Summit reaffirmed that religious leaders are crucial in addressing present challenges and finding shared sustainable solutions to overcome them. On the second day of the Summit, the KAICIID-supported United Nations Plan of Action to Prevent Atrocity Crimes was presented in the local language.
