We had a dream, and this past weekend, we proved that dreams really do come true!
A dream inspired by the divine wisdom and grace of HH Pujya Swami Chidanand Saraswatiji and His vision of a model city in which the youth of Rishikesh would come together to lead the way for a clean, green and serene city. On the Saturday, those youth took the dream and began the process of bringing it into full realization.
The joy that we felt in greeting these amazing young men and women, and the incredible gratitude that we experienced as we watched them diligently and dedicatedly clean the Triveni Ghat promenade and the banks of Mother Ganga was palpable. Proving that they are the change that they want to see in their city, they dedicated their time, their talents and their tenacity to set an example of what can happen when we model the change that we want to bring to the world.
We offer our unending thanks to our dedicated Global Interfaith WASH Alliance Team, Himanshu Dalip Rawat, the Parmarth Niketan Rishikumars and our Yuva Shakti for bringing this incredible initiative to life, and we look forward to the planned biweekly activities that will continue to build the movement’s momentum and the incredible spirit of service that has been started. The seeds of these amazing young men and women’s efforts will become the tree of inspiration and change that will attract people from around the world to see Yoga in Action in the the yoga capital of the world!
