GIWA Co-Founder, HH Pujya Swami Chidanand Saraswatiji, celebrated with Uttarakhand’s Chief Minister, Hon’ble Shri Harish Rawatji and other dignitaries the bequeathing of a 2 crore rupee contribution by RB for Save the Children’s STOP Diarrhoea programs in India.
The contribution comes from a challenge that consists of a five-day trek to the Kuari pass and will conclude with a visit to Save the Children’s project in Haridwar where the trekkers will help repair and renovate a school. They will also work with children attending the school to create awareness around the importance of adopting healthy hand washing habits by undertaking numerous tasks such as painting, hygiene messaging and hand washing demonstrations in addition to small manual labour tasks.
STOP Diarrhoea, is one of the programs being implemented across 10 gram panchayats in each of the following locations in Uttarakhand – Laksar block in Haridwar district and Sitarganj block of Udhamsingh Nagar district.
