Tree Plantation at GMVN Bharat Bhoomi Retreat Camp

This week we assembled for a tree planting at the Garhwal Mandal Vikas Nigam (GMVN) Bharat Bhoomi retreat camp, a subsidiary body of the Uttarakhand Tourism Development Board in Nataraj Chowk, Rishikesh.

We received Pujya Swamiji’s blessings from America, as well as from the officials present at the event, including Sunil Bhagatji from the Swaminarayan tradition and Shri S.N. Mishra, a reputed figure in Uttarakhand known for his great knowledge and work in preservation and promotion of indigenous medicinal herbs and plants of India.

Famous Actor of West Bengal, Script Writer, Director and Producer Hiraan Chaturvedi who had enjoyed a week long stay at the Ashram gladly concluded his visit by joining for the special plantation.

Parmarth Niketan was represented by Amit Yadav, Ganga Nandini, tree enthusiast family David, Eva, Kamala and Jahnavi, Vineet Kumarji and our Rishikumars.

We donated over 50 trees to GMVN, most of which we planted during our visit. These included many medicinal and herbal trees and plants, such as jamun, amla, rheeta, walnut and many other fruit trees.

Pujya Swamiji in His message and blessing from abroad congratulated these efforts, emphasized the crucial importance of planting trees, greening our environment and taking simple actions to combat climate change.

Shri SN Mishra ji discussed the importance of trees for tackling an array of environmental issues, while David talked about the need for the plantation of 1 trillion trees worldwide to combat climate change. #washalliance #GIWA #climatechange #climateaction #trees #janshakti4jalshakti
