In November, 2013, GIWA’s Co-Secretariat in Rishikesh, India, had the joy of having hosted their Royal Highnesses, Charles, Prince of Wales and Duchess Camilla. During their special visit, we performed together a special water ceremony, similar to the one performed during GIWA’s launch at UNICEF Headquarters, with sincere prayers for WASH for all.

The Global Interfaith WASH Alliance’s Secretariat is located in the beautiful confines of Parmarth Niketan, Rishikesh. Parmarth Niketan, which means “an abode dedicated to the welfare of all,” was founded in 1942 on the beautiful banks of the River Ganga, not far from where the sparkling river first exits the emerald green Himalayas.
