On International Peace Day, during Pujya Swami Chidanand Saraswatiji’s recent trip to Lucknow, the Global Interfaith WASH Alliance, Ganga Action Parivar and Parmarth Niketan hosted a beautiful clean up & tree plantation programme in Vijay Nagar, Lucknow.
The event began with children of the Technical High School joined by a group of children from Harijan Sevak Sangh, Lucknow School joining Pujya Swamiji and many community members to plant twelve medicinal, ornamental and fruit trees on the campus.
They warmly welcomed Pujya Swamiji with a beautiful prayer and listened intently to Pujya Swamiji’s divine message of living together with love and peace and how we must protect and nuture our environment and work to keep our communities clean.
Empowered by Pujya Swamiji’s words the group hit the streets to clean up. As Pujya Swamiji ventured out to pick up rubbish from the sewerage drains so that the solid waste does not chock up the drain the members of the community followed suit.
The event was jointly organised by GIWA- Parmarth Niketan, Shri Ganesh Tamrakar, Vastu Shastra Architect, Senior Art of Living Teacher, the Vijay Nagar Seva Samiti with the active support of Organic India team in Lucknow and with the vision and inspiration.
