GIWA Co-Founder, Pujya Swami Chidanand Saraswatiji met with Sadhvi Uma Bharti, the Hon’ble Minister of Water Resources and Ganga Rejuvenation, Government of India, during two recent meetings. Together, they discussed concrete solutions for improved WASH, as well as strategies for rejuvenating the Ganga and Yamuna Rivers. He said that GIWA was ready to serve and support the Government in implementing a comprehensive plan for revitalizing the rivers, which are the source of water for some 500 million people.
During the first meeting, Pujya Swamiji presented the Ganga Grand Plan, a GIWA White Paper, to Hon’ble Sadhvi Uma Bharti, as well as GIWA’s White Papers on the River Yamuna and the sustainable re-development of disaster-torn Uttarakhand.

During a second meeting, a tree sapling was also planted at Hon’ble Sadhvi Uma Bharti’s residence, with prayers for a greener, happier world for all.
