In a meeting with Respected Shri Parameshwaran Iyerji, Secretary Drinking Water & Sanitation, Government of India, Pujya Swami Chidanand Saraswatiji – Muniji discussed the agenda of the Swachh Uttarakhand, Swachh Bharat Summit.
They also discussed the collective efforts of central and state governments to declare the state of Uttarakhand Open Defecation Free (ODF) in the coming weeks. He also urged Pujya Swamiji through GIWA to help spread awareness regarding low-cost twin pit composting toilets as a simple yet effective solution to the pollution of open defecation.
Shri Parameshwaran Iyerji shared that through a simple, natural process, the toilets convert human waste into rich manure that can be used as safe and very effective fertilizer.
Pujya Swamiji shared how everyone everywhere is truly the solution to the pollution, and should patriotically not just take one step, but should take every step towards a cleaner and greener India for all. Respected Iyerji shared this vision and offered his support towards furthering the summit’s outcomes.
