Ganga Utsav was celebrated with great energy and devotion at Chandi Ghat, Haridwar, on Ganga Diwas (4th November) by NMCG & Namami Gange. The event welcomed over 1,000 attendees, including hundreds of enthusiastic students & teachers from Uttarakhand, who gained valuable insights about Maa Ganga, her ecosystems, challenges, and ways to preserve this sacred river.
GIWA, Ganga Action Parivar, and Parmarth Niketan joined together under GIWA’s Director of Projects Ms. Ganga Nandini ji to inspire and educate by a beautiful stall set up showcasing our Co-founder and President of Parmarth Niketan, Pujya Swami Chidanand Saraswatiji’s tireless work for Ganga. GIWA team’s Mrs.Vandana Sharma led an interactive quiz that engaged students and rewarded their enthusiasm for Ganga conservation. Attendees at the Parmarth Niketan stall were captivated by Parmarth Gurukul students’ soulful, multilingual song honoring Maa Ganga and a powerful puppet show by the Rishikumars, creatively depicting Ganga’s pollution challenges and protection solutions.
Honorable Jal Shakti Minister Shri Raj Bhushan Chaudhary praised the dedication of our students and team, while GIWA’s Co-Founder, Param Pujya Swamiji, expressed deep appreciation for everyone’s efforts. The event concluded with a divine Ganga Aarti, filling Chandi Ghat with sacred chants and devotion.Honourable Jal Shakti Minister Shri.Raj Bhushan Chaudhary who visited the stalls appreciated the team and students for their active participation.
Pujya Swamiji visited the stall and appreciated the team’s effort. The event ended with divine Ganga Aarti conducted at Chandi Ghat. From pledges to protect Ganga by avoiding plastic to planting trees along her banks, every moment echoed the message of a clean, Aviral Nirmal Ganga.
