The words of faith leaders Motivate, Persuade & Enable

The Global Interfaith WASH Alliance (GIWA) is the world’s first initiative that is engaging the planet’s many faiths as allies in efforts to create a world where every human being has access to safe drinking water, improved sanitation and proper hygiene.

REVOLUTION WITH FAITH

GIWA brings together Faith Leaders from Across India and the World

Through initiatives like our Worship for WASH Summits and large-scale public events, faith leaders and communities are uniting and collaborating to save lives and foster a healthier, happier, and more harmonious world. These events, attended by hundreds to hundreds of thousands, have the power to transform perceptions and drive tangible behavioral changes in populations.

Faith plays a fundamental role in shaping global society, quietly influencing our personal decisions, from what we eat to whom we marry and where we reside. With over 83% of the world’s population (and 99% of India’s significant population) affiliated with a faith, it is evident that the public sector itself is a community deeply rooted in faith. According to UNICEF, “With nearly 5 billion people belonging to religious communities, the potential for action by their leaders is substantial.”

Large-scale summits, faith-based festivals, religious programs like kathas, and other ceremonies serve as powerful platforms to make a profound impact on populations and bring about enduring behavior change. These events provide valuable opportunities to engage with individuals at a significant scale, leaving a lasting impression that influences their actions and choices for the long term. By leveraging the collective power of these gatherings, we can foster positive transformations in attitudes, beliefs, and behaviors that lead to lasting change in society.
