India’s Union Ministry of Ganga Rejuvenation and Water Resources held a special Namami Gange Conference at GIWA’s Secretariat of Parmarth Niketan (Rishikesh). Gracing the occasion were Hon’ble Minister of Ganga Rejuvenation and Water Resources, Hon’ble Minister Umashri Bhartiji with Dr. Vinay Sahasrabudhai, National Vice President of BJP, Mr Trivendra Singh Rawat, National Convenor Namami Gange and members of the BJP Ganga Cell of all the states through which the River Ganga traverses.

The discussions included plans to work together to end pollution of the sacred national river, planned organic farming on both sides of the riverbed, as well as wide-scale involvement of civil society and people to ensure that the River remains clean, green and serene.

There was also a beautiful hands on clean up programme, engaging all participants to take their discussions into action and reaffirm their pledge to restore Mother Ganga.
